Vertical Wave supports Analog, Digital, and IP phones. The followiing is a quick break-down of each, but if you still aren't sure which phone is right for you, call us at 800-331-3307.
Analog Phones:
Any non-proprietary analog phone may be used with Wave. Customers typically find their own analog phones of their liking. Wave will send Caller ID and a Message Waiting Indicator status to analog phones.
Vertical manufacturers their own line of digital phones. These are specific to the Wave systems, and provide “key” system features such as busy-lamp fields (BLF), phone to phone intercom paging, and extremely fast dial and response times. The digital phones are available in 8 button, 24 button, and cordless (DECT) models. The 8 button and 24 button models do not require a power supply, as they draw power from the Wave system via the RJ11 (two wire) phone cord. Digital phones are a popular replacement for older analog phone deployments, as no wiring change is necessary.
Wave supports any non-proprietary IP phone. Nowadays, there are hundreds of models of IP phones available for you to choose from. Most 3rd party (generic) IP phones require that you know how to program their functionality, in terms of key-mappings and network/SIP provisioning. If you choose to go with a 3rd party IP phone, you will need a 3rd party IP phone license (VW-IP3RDGEN-L). Vertical manufacturers their own line of IP phones, available in 8 button, 24 button, and an executive-level large LCD display model. These models work with Wave right out of the box with no “extra” programming necessary. The 24 button and executive-level models support an optional Bluetooth or WiFi module. Vertical’s IP phones provide great value, as they INCLUDE the required IP phone license along with the phone
